Yesterday’s ICNA conference was awesome, alhamdulillah.  I made twice my goal for the day – a goal which I thought was ambitious.  I think the major factor for success was that they gave me a table in front of a little alcove in the room where the bazaar was.  Although I only had one folding table from the conference organizers, my husband pulled out a coffee table and moved it up front, and set up another table behind me, so it was like a miniature replica of the bookstore, with benches to sit on and room to browse.  I’m so relieved LOI made good money because I’ve been anxious about what I’ve spent on merchandise recently.

Two things I planned but didn’t do much of: sign people up for the customer rewards plan, and promote other upcoming events.  I simply didn’t have the space for flyers or the time to talk because it was busy and the tables were crowded with books.  Nevertheless, I think the conference gave the bookstore good exposure.
